Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication is India’s first university dedicated exclusively to Journalism and Communication. Widely recognized among the country’s respected journalism institutions, the university has built a strong reputation for industry-oriented media education and multidisciplinary learning. Established by the Government of Madhya Pradesh in 1990 and recognized under UGC 2(f) & 12(B), MCU combines academic credibility with practical media training. The university was also among the early adopters of NEP 2020, implementing flexible learning systems that encourage students to explore interdisciplinary and industry-relevant skills.
